KEY INFORMATION ON THE APPELLATION

175 winegrowers cultivate 1300ha of vineyards.

These men and women are the key players in the prestige and success of VACQUEYRAS.

Each and every one has given the best of their talent and their soils to develop the full potential of the lands of the Appellation.

> LOCATION OF THE VACQUEYRAS APPELLATION

- Departement of the VAUCLUSE (84)
- In the middle of the triangle shaped by CARPENTRAS, ORANGE, VAISON la ROMAINE

> PRODUCTION AREAS

- Area : 1 690 ha, territory layout on February 22 1990
- Vine plantation area : 1 300 ha
- 175 winegrowers : 130 winegrowers in co-op cellars, 45 winegrowers making their wine in private wineries, bottling and selling at the winery.

130 winegrowers are members of the Cave Coopérative de VACQUEYRAS (the co-op) they account for 50% of the overall production.

LOCAL WINE MERCHANTS :
There are 3 wine merchants in VACQUEYRAS, two of which make wine as well – vinifying and selling bottled wine. The third wine mechant is entirely dedicated to wine wholesale.

LOCAL WINE TRADERS:
There are 3 Wine trades VACQUEYRAS. They are key players in the economic life of the appellation.

VACQUEYRAS is thus a a full scale player in the wine world, with representation in the 3 fields of wine making : Wine growing, merchants, trades.
The men and women working in many sectors are the keystone of the Prestige and Success of VACQUEYRAS. Each has contributed his or her know-how and expertise to a better understanding and development of our lands and soils, on all levels : geological, climatical, ampelographical and economic.

> PRODUCTION REGULATIONS OF THE VACQUEYRAS APPELLATION:

- Base yield : 36 hl /ha
- Grape varieties : Grenache 50% minimum, Syrah Mourvèdre 20 % minimum,
Other, 10 % maximum.
- Minimum degree (proof): 12°5 for red wines, 12° for white wines and rosés
- Density : 4 000 vines / ha
